You can choose the crystal that resonates most with you, or you can base your choice on the questions you would like to ask. If you have love questions, the rose quartz is usually best for those, but if you feel like I should be using another crystal for your love question, I can.
 
I use smoke to cleanse myself and my space before each reading. I will spend time meditating upon your questions before consulting the pendulum that most resonated with you.
